Lets Talk Heat

With winter on its way, we wanted to freshen up our knowledge of home heating options with our series on heat. There are a lot of options available but not all heating options work great for every home. If you’ve got a passive house with less square footage, the investment of a heat pump may not be worth it and looking at baseboard heat could be the money saver you need. If you’ve got a bigger house with multiple floors, a wood stove on a lower level may be the carbon-neutral option you’re looking for. A gas-powered furnace is a great option for mid-sized homes and Fortis BC may even give you a rebate for the upgrade! Over the next couple of weeks, we will be breaking down the ups and downsides of each of these heat options for homes.
