Bidding on jobs is a big part of the work you do so this week we thought we would give you a few tips on how to up your bidding game!
Update your pricing. With the cost of goods and labour changing so much in the last couple of years, it’s important to have your pricing list up to date.
Know what the job is. This may seem like a no brainer but looking through the plans and making sure you not only can do the job but you want to do the job is important! If there are parts of drawings missing or don’t seem right, this is an opportunity to say no or get into tip #3.
Talk to the Contractor. Replying to their email with the plans saying when you’ll have your bid in is a great way to introduce yourself as well as set a standard for communication on the project.
Submit your bid with a cover letter, marked plans and a detailed bid. This shows not only that you know what you are doing but also shows the Contractor that you’re able to lay out information clearly and easily.
