Construction Trends for 2022

The construction industry is steadfast and strong in Canada with a lot of investments coming from the government in their Growth plan with the Canadian Infrastructure Bank (CIB). The goal is to create 60,000 new jobs in the next 3 years as part of a post-COVID-19 recovery plan. The other goal here is to get replacements for the over 130,000 tradespeople retiring in the next 10 years. Hopefully, this trend of the education system promoting trades within secondary and post-secondary will continue! The other big trends are residential and non-residential. With almost 30% of the construction being in new housing for the nation, this will hopefully cut some of those outrageous costs of purchasing a home in the more desired areas of Canada, like Toronto and the west coast. We also sit around 50% for our non-residential construction, which is building that infrastructure that is so needed for transportation. There is so much more to this, so go check out the links below to read more!
